Our ancestors, who knew the intrinsic properties of several spices and herbs, used them extensively in medicine. Experimentation with spices in cuisine also had begun in India ages ago and word had spread far and wide about the stunning results that they could produce in the aroma and the flavour of a dish. The Greeks, the Romans, the Spaniards, the Portuguese, and the Arabs, from the Middle Eastern Persia, followed this mystical spice trail to India and thus occupied its territories even before the era of Christ. Indian spices have over centuries, multiplied their charm manifold and have crossed international boundaries to the remotest corners of the Earth; in the Americas, across Europe, the Down Under, and the Far East. The rich aroma of a delicate blend of our spices is enough to tickle the palate of the strictest gourmets anywhere in the world.
Since time immemorial therefore, and even in these days of challenging and changing culinary trends, we cannot but be reckoned, as the true Spice Capital of the World.
